Inspiring

To most people this is just a picture of some young boys playing basketball , but to me this is so much more! Alex has never been cleared to play sports until this year , basketball was put on the block for him~! Alex has never been a basketball fan and never paid much attention to it. He started the year off not knowing what a pick was or even being able to dribble the ball between his legs. For everyone that doubts the impact of sports and social activities , this is proof positive that it can change everything. This is the first year he has kept his grades above level, that he has kept his abscences to a minimum and he feels like he belongs! He has sat by queitly watching his brothers play ball for 10 years , watching his peers do all the activities that he could only pray to do someday . Believe me, there were some emotional times were the words melt down could only describe what was happening. So even though the riverview team has yet to win a game , Alex's determination only grows! He is truly an inspiration to me , he doesn't get tons of playing time, but what he does get , he gives 110% effort! I'm just as proud as a peacock!
